The Peanut Vendor is a Vintage furniture shop based in Newington Green in Islington. The purpose of the shop is to find all those wonderful, previously loved and treasured pieces of furniture and homeware, those that are as nostalgic as they are design classics, and present them to people in an accessible and affordable way.

The Peanut Vendors are Barny and Becky, we've both had long term obsessions with all that is old: collecting records, clothes and furniture since our time began. We decided to turn our hobby into a full time job, risking it all for a life of early morning markets, Thermos flasks and long johns.

The beauty of The Peanut Vendor is that we have very specific tastes, which ensures that junk, kitch and 'retro' tack do not creep into our shopping list. Our tastes change regularly, just like the design climate. So you can always find relevant pieces as well as stylish oddities.

From early to mid 20th century, we stock an eclectic mix of pieces, from one off pieces to classic items like Ercol. Our vintage items are sourced and hand selected by us from all over the UK and Europe. Taking inspiration from the design giants and styles from the early 1900's through to the 60's, to them we are doth our hats. Now we are a couple of years into our new job we have discovered a real passion for interior design, we hope this is reflected in our range of stock.

We realised, that in London and online, there is a gap in the market for good quality and unique furniture, that doesn't cost the earth. We want to help people make their home look tasteful and stylish, with authentic furniture and homeware from any period they so desire. The Peanut Vendor is not about stocking original costly design classics, instead we'll stock original furniture from the same era with all the design reference points, at a fraction of the price along with the weird and the wonderful.
